The obt file extension is associated with Microsoft Office Binder. Microsoft Office Binder is included with Microsoft Office 95, Microsoft Office 97, and Microsoft Office 2000.
You can use Office Binder to tie Microsoft Word documents, Microsoft Excel worksheets, Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Project files, and Microsoft Visio files together in one file without having to load separate programs.
The obt files are used for templates.
Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office XP, Microsoft Office 2007/2010 and higher does not include Office Binder. Binder files can still be opened in later versions of Microsoft Office up until version 2003, with the Microsoft Binder Support add-in, called Unbind which can be installed through the Add and Remove programs menu.
